Neville Goddard's Final Lectures: Warning to Readers to Listen to Audios and Correct the Text Yourself

I see my warning to readers on Amazon has been removed. I am all for purchasing Mitch Horowitz's book Neville Goddard's Final Lectures (those being given in 1972), but be forewarned that there are errors in the transcriptions. Many of the errors were caused by the difficulty of hearing just exactly what Neville said. Neville often abbreviated the first word in his sentences, like giving just a slight 'n' sound for the word "and," and he sometimes almost swallowed the 'ed' at the end of a word when he made a past tense. Several times there are sound-alike word choices that simply miss what Neville actually said. Here are a few: Page...

26 apparition s/b adumbration; for sharing s/b the foreshadowing; last paragraph--"the significance of it"; "and makes them through faith" s/b "and makes it through faith."

27 land s/b area; last paragraph--there s/b they; "he has to completely" s/b "he had to completely."

28 his s/b this; formulating s/b formulate; denied s/b denies; even full of love s/b infinite Love.

29 the s/b of; men s/b man (2x); ended s/b entered; under s/b and the.

Well, I could go on for several hundreds of these mistakes. THEY ARE NOT CAUSE TO NOT GET THE BOOK. THEY ARE CAUSE TO LISTEN AND TO CORRECT WHAT YOU THINK AND "KNOW." Get a sharp pencil and make the effort to search for the meaning, to search for God! The work is a project, and the reward for completing it will be well worth it.

A Bit For The Elational Epiphany

"No human [being] ever saw Allaha, except for the only born Allaha, He who existed in the bosom of his Father, [Who] proclaimed* (spoke of ) Him" (John 1:18 Alexander). If we are that only born Allaha (Allaha connotes the Allahoota, the Godhead), our qualities are in fact God's qualities. We reveal Him.

God is one, and we, as well as everything else, are included in the one that He is. Our faults, sin and negativity are matters He is dealing with. That is what THIS is: God is fixing Himself. And like I just posted, right relationships in every way and on every level are the fix. That is something I surmise about the Lord Jesus Christ--he devoutly maintained right relationships with God and every human. John the Baptist and even God noted it: "And, behold, the voice from heaven that said, 'This is my beloved Son, by whom I am fulfilled!'" (Matthew 3:17 Alexander).

Heading For Healing 32: Unheard Faith

You were redeemed. Yeah, so what? William Marrion Branham knew what. If we were and are redeemed by the blood of Jesus Christ, God Almighty, that redemption was and is 100 percent complete and perfect. The only thing holding it back is our stupid. ALL of the consequence of the fall, of every conceivable sin and offence, was and IS undone. All. Every. Completely. Redeemed, we stand before God as pure and holy as HIMSELF. Let that soak in for a minute or two--as pure and holy as God Himself. And with this perfect and complete redemption we were and are healed. ARE healed, as pure and holy and perfect and complete as God Himself.

We can hear this wonderful news on the outside and expect healing from without. But it is the hearing on the INSIDE, deep in the core of our being, that matters most: "I am redeemed by the blood of the Lamb--God Almighty--who was crucified for me, ME! I WAS and I AM healed by His stripes. ALL--ALL--of the effects of the fall are GONE, as if they never existed. Satan--stupid--has NOTHING in me. Not a thing!! Hallelujah!"

Billy Branham preached it and lived it: "You are healed," he said to many, but it was not often heard. The audience heard it on the outside, like he was doing it by his power. They had faith, but they expected healing from without. THERE IS NO GOD OUTSIDE. God is in us, or there is no god at all. Are you waiting for the vacuum to work? Feel for God inside, where He is. Hear there, where you meet God, "You are healed," for there you were. There is not another redemption coming. Do not wait for someone to do what has already been--and eternally is--done.

The Gift Of Tongues Is For Missions Continued

I do not want what I said in my last post misunderstood. I had recognized with much grief that I had sinned against God by my self-lordship, my theft of His life, and had submitted myself by casting self-control out of myself. I waited for Him; the ball was in His court. And then He forgave me: "Remember this, and it is all right." Oh, how my emotions soared: relief, gratitude, praise, thanks, and loving adoration. The feeling of a flood rose in by bowels--Life, Eternal Life as a water--I guess in what would be the solar plexus, and the feeling gradually approached my throat. My mind was pouring forth appreciation, love and praise to God for his glorious mercy, and I could not say it in the depth and magnitude I was feeling it in English. We just do not have the words. My jaw began to quiver and my tongue and lips began to move by some power other than myself. "Don't try to control it," said the minister. Controlling it was the furthest thing from my mind at that point. The Life came up and all the love, appreciation and praise of God I felt and could not articulate in English poured forth from my mouth. SHE was talking for me, through me, saying all the things I wanted and meant to say but could not...in a language I did not know how to speak. Were a speaker of that language there at the moment, I imagine they would have fallen to their knees overwhelmed by the glory of which I spoke.

Maybe. They sure would have gotten an earful of glorification of God.

The Gift Of Tongues Is For Missions

Yes, the gift of tongues is for edification and prayer, too, but primarily it was and is for providing a miraculous sign to people whose language you do not know. When I was first saved in a Pentecostal gathering I did not receive the gift of tongues. I felt good about accepting Jesus as my lord, but that was about it. I did not know that speaking in tongues was a gift of the spirit of God, and I didn't really care. My friend wanted the gift, and while we are at Grace Bible Church in Honolulu he asked the ministers to help him pray for it. I waited in the vestibule reading the notices and looking at the pictures on the bulletin board. One of the ministers came out and asked me if I would like to receive the gift of tongues. I was like, "Well, I'm here, so why not?"

I battled through many emotions and revelations to receive the gift--hang on, it can be like a rollercoaster--and the thing about receiving it is I HAD ABSOLUTELY NO CONTROL OVER WHAT I WAS SAYING. My mind and volitional control were completely passive as to what my mouth was doing. It was the Holy Ghost calling all the shots. I was inside my head watching what was going on in amazement, with virtually no connection to it except that it was happening in and through me. I MADE ZERO EFFORT TO CONTROL OR DIRECT MY SPEECH; my mind was busy praising, thanking, and adoring God. This is what you do when you let the Holy Ghost speak to people whose language you do not know--YOU LET HER DO IT.

John 3:14 References John 1:4-5, Not The Brazen Serpent

John 3:14 does not refer to the Brazen Serpent, but back to John 1:4-5 and what Moses did with THAT. The only English version I know of in which John 3:14 refers to John 1:4-5 is Victor Alexander's translation from the ancient Aramaic. Even there it is a bit hard to catch. John begins:

1. In the beginning [of creation]
there was the Milta*;
And that Milta was with Allaha;
and Allaha was [the embodiment of] that Milta.
2. This was in the beginning with Allaha
3. Everything was within his power*,
[otherwise] nothing would ever exist.*
4. Through him [there] was Life*
and Life became the spark* of humanity
5. And that [ensuing] fire* lights the darkness
and darkness does not overshadow it.

Alexander uses the Aramaic term Allaha for God, which I remember him saying incorporates all of the Godhead, and provides much deep information is in his footnotes for this passage:

1:1 [All instances] Literal Aramaic word retained: "Manifestation." "Milta" or "Miltha" is an Aramaic word that has been set aside for only sacred use. Only the Messiah Eashoa is ever to be called the Milta. Grammatically, "Milta" means the essential connotation for a person or thing. There is no true English equivalent for this word.
1:4.1 Lit. Ar. idiomatic construction: "And without his hand, not one [thing that] became would have become."
1:4.2 "Lives," whenever it represents: "life everlasting" is stated in the plural. When used in this sense it will always be capitalized in this translation and appear as "Life."
1:4.3 Lit. Ar. id.: "Light."
1:5 Lit. Ar. id.: "Light."

Alexander says that the Milta is essence or Manifestation of Allaha--of all the Godhead, and that all the Godhead is the embodiment of the Milta. Kind of gives me the idea of an Idea, or of imagination. The Greek idea of Logos or Word does not seem adequate. Let me concentrate on John 1:4 and 5, which the notes render:

"Through Him (Messiah Eashoa) [there] was Life Everlasting (i.e., the Holy Ghost), and Life Everlasting (the Holy Ghost) became the Light of humanity; and that ensuing Light (the Holy Ghost) lights the darkness and darkness does not overshadow it." Let me restate it this way:

The Light of Life = Life Everlasting (the Holy Spirit) = the spark of humanity = the ensuing Light which lights the darkness.

Now for Alexander's version of John 3:14-15 from the ancient Aramaic:

13. "No human [being] goes up to heaven, except the one who comes down from heaven, the Son of Man who was in heaven.*
14. "And just as Moses lifted the darkness by the light of life, this is how you should glorify* the Son of Man.
15. "So that every human [being] who believes in him does not [go to] oblivion, except that they may have life everlasting*

Footnotes:

3:13 Lit. Aramaic idiomatic construction retained.
3:14 Lit. Ar. id.: "Lift up."
3:15 Lit. Ar. id.: ""To [the end of] the universe."

Here is the thing: Moses lifted the darkness of his people BY THE HOLY GHOST, and that is how we are to lift up the Son of Man WHO OUR FELLOW MEN AND WOMEN ARE. Every human being who--seeing the demonstration of the Holy Ghost--realizes that he or she IS a son of man (the spark of the Holy Ghost within him) and believes on Messiah Eashoa becomes enabled to become a Son of God. That REWARD is the "GOSPEL."

The Elational Epiphany

I have been wondering how describe what hit me--the elation I have because of what I saw from reading and revising Neville Goddard's Final Lectures by Mitch Horowitz. The emotion reminds me of what I just read by Dr. Frank C. Laubach: "I look up at this page and it is not red hot as my soul is now. It is black ink. It ought to be written with the red ribbon. You will not see the tears that are falling on this typewriter, tears of a boundless joy broken loose." Kids are wondering, "What is red ribbon?"

I do not want to sound shrill, but as I finished reading and revising the lectures in Neville Goddard's Final Lectures according to the audios and made the association with "When you make the two one..." from the Gospel of Thomas, log. 22 and 106, I had an epiphany. A light went on deep inside and I "got " something special. In each of the lectures (which I had read in reverse order) Neville was saying that Jesus, who is the Father, and Christ, who is the Son, ARE the core of our being. The two are one. He says it in the titles of his lectures; e.g., You Must Experience God, God And I Are One; and he explains it in great detail in What Is Man? and other lectures. What I got was that the Bible is all about relationships, especially this relationship. The stories in the Bible are not about history, they are about relationships. The book ends in with all in universal and continuous right relationships. That is what the Law is all about--exemplary right relationships which are summed up in love of God and family (which all are).

The relationship is within us. At my baptism in the Holy Ghost, I observed life flood up from my bowels as living water until it poured forth from my lips as a language. I was as John the Baptist watching the Spirit descend and rest upon Jesus, but Jesus was me. I wish I had continued in his fidelity and integrity, but at least I see now that the connecting ink is here in me, and I have an advocate who IS the Father.

Right Relationships: The Bible And Jesus Christ Are All About Right Relationships--Thoughts From Neville Goddard's Lecture "What Is Man?"

THE BIBLE IS ABOUT RIGHT RELATIONSHIPS and the consequence of not having them. Jesus Christ, two titles separated by Paul--Jesus being God the Father and Christ being His son--are exemplary of right relationships, as the two are one in perfect agreement as different parts of the same being. THAT---right relationships--is what we are looking at from the beginning of the Beginning in Genesis 1:1 to the end of the Apocalypse. Right relationship is what the Bible is about right through the whole book. YHWH (the LORD) Jesus is God Saving Us; and His Christ, David, is all we do "after His heart." The two act as one: "The Holy Ghost spake by me" (2 Samuel 23:2). That is not just in words: the son of David from a wrong relationship has to die, while the son of a right relationship sits as judge.

Without forcing anything, as the Beginning the Son of God (the Ineffable's imagination) creates everything. But as It flips into concrete existence it suffers darkness, i.e., amnesia, and from amnesia, ignorance. This is the crucifixion: death of memory and conscious association. Thus the world becomes chaos without form--all in wrong relationship. God reestablishes order for right relationship in the earth, but man (the flame) over it (the earth) chooses wrongly: "Acquisition" (Cain) over "Transitoriness" (Abel). God--Elohim, that "Over the Flames" we are--sets things right again, only to have man screw it up by choosing weakly (Enos). And on it goes, page after page. "He came unto His own, unto the keepers of the rules of right relationships, and they rejected Him." Regardless, He died for them.

THE right relationship is the flesh nature we have humbly submitted to the spirit of God our imagination is within us, both cooperating as one--honoring God above all and loving in action all men as our kin. For this we must be born from above, lifting the darkness by the Light of Life (John 3:14 Alexander; John 3:22-30 is to be read AFTER John 3:36).

Revision of “Jesus Christ And When You Make The Two One (Gospel of Thomas 22 and 106)”

I think I misspoke in the post below. I said that Neville developed the idea of Jesus being the Father and Christ his son, David, in the lecture "Know What You Want (= Our Real Belief). I have been reading and listening to Neville Goddard's Final Lectures, which I recommend you get. But know that the book is an unfinished project--I counted 674 mistakes, errors, and omissions in the nineteen lectures it covers, and that is not including any of the punctuation errors. I listened to the lectures in reverse order, and it was more recently that I discerned what Neville was saying about Jesus Christ being two-persons-in-one, and that that being is us. The most recent lectures I listened to to revise Horowitz's errant text were "God's Son," "Divine Vision," "Feel After Him," "What Is Man?" and "Faith Is Loyalty To Unseen Reality." Each of these lectures carry the theme that in the title "Jesus Christ" Jesus is the Father, and Christ is David the son, and we are both. It is "What Is Man?" in which the idea is most fully developed.

The book Neville Goddard's Final Lectures must be read with the audios. We will find God when we search for Him with our whole hearts, and this is part of the process. The book is a project for the reader to complete: you find out what Neville actually said, and you discover God. Listening to Neville is not easy!! Did Neville just begin that sentence with and, so, but, for, or yet? Did he say you or you'll? Apparition or adumbration? Arcane or archaic? Meet or beat? It or him? Like I said, I found over six hundred cases where the book misheard what Neville said. Pencil the correct words in, and you build the vision! Break the code. I thank Mitch for the mistakes: the digging yielded treasure.

End of Revision

________________________________________

I have been reading and listening to Neville Goddard's lecture "Know What You Want" (aka Our Real Belief). In this lecture Neville develops two very interesting ideas. One is that knowing, as in "you must know exactly what you want," is done so deep down in the core of one's being that it affects God, who is one's imagination. "Knowing" is in one's being. When you know something, it has become you. If you would, the two--what you would know and your imagination, which is really God Almighty--become one.

The second idea is that Jesus Christ is two persons: Jesus is God the Father, and Christ is the Father's son, David, who is the sum total of all human activity--the son of God (pull over that salt block, will ya?). My only interest here is that the two, God Almighty and human activity--both imagination--become one. These ideas called to mind the famous "when you make the two one" passages in the Gospel of Thomas. The first is:

(22) "Jesus saw children who were being suckled. He said to
his disciples: these children who are being suckled
are like those who enter the Kingdom.
They said to Him: Shall we then, being children,
enter the Kingdom? Jesus said to them: When you make the two one, and
when you make the inner as the outer
and the outer as the inner and the above
as the below, and when
you make the male and the female into a single one
so that the male will not be male and
the female (not) be female, when you make
eyes in the place of an eye, and a hand
in the place of a hand, and a foot in the place
of a foot, (and) an image in the place of an image,
then shall you enter [the Kingdom]."

The second is:

(106) "When you make the two one, you shall become
sons of Man, and when you say: 'Mountain, be moved', it will
be moved."

Maybe it is just me, but I see the possibility of some correspondence between these two "when you make the two one" statements and what Neville is saying about our imagined experience becoming one with God within us. When we make the two one...

On The Christ-thing: PDF of Dr. Frank C. Laubach's "Letters by a Modern Mystic" 1937

I hope one of these links works. In my first year at Melodyland School of Theology, I stopped by the Christian Center's bookstore before going on a retreat. I picked up a small paperback: Open Windows, Swinging Doors: Personal Diary of Dr. Frank C. Laubach. Below is my favorite passage from this favorite book of mine. Not having close ties to any church in the area, Laubach through his books pretty much became my pastor. It took me seven years to hunt down a used copy of Channels Of Spiritual Power. I learned also that the Letters By A Modern Mystic published by the Student Volunteer Movement was the same as Open Windows, Swinging Doors (there are others published). You want to be like Jesus? I want to be like Frank C. Laubach. Same same.

Letters by a Modern Mystic

March 9, 1930 – Boundless joy broken loose
For the first time in my life I know what I must do off in lonesome Lanao. I know why God left this aching void, for himself to fill. Off on this mountain I must do three things:
1. I must pursue this voyage of discovery in quest of God's will. I must because the world needs me to do it.
2. I must plunge into mighty experiments in intercessory prayer, to test my hypothesis that God needs my help to do his will for others, and that my prayer releases his power. I must be his channel, for the world needs me.
3. I must confront these Moros with a divine love which will speak Christ to them though I never use his name. They must see God in me, and I must see God in them. Not to change the name of their religion, but to take their hand and say, "Come, let us look for God."

A few days ago as we came on the priests, they were praying, in one boat with thirty-five Moros, many of whom called to me to join. So I held out my hands and prayed with them, and as earnestly as any of them. One of them said "He is Islam," and I replied, "A friend of Islam."

My teacher, Dato Pambaya, told me this week that a good Muslim ought to utter the sacred word for God, every time he begins to do anything, to sleep, or walk, or work, or even turn around. A good Muslim would fill his life with God. I fear there are few good Muslims.

But so would a real Christlike Christian speak to God every time he did anything - and I fear there are few good Christians.

What right then have I or any other person to come here and change the name of these people from Muslim to Christian, unless I lead them to a life fuller of God than they have now? Clearly, clearly, my job here is not to go to the town plaza and make proselytes, it is to live wrapped in God, trembling to his thoughts, burning with his passion. And, my loved one, that is the best gift you can give to your own town.

I look up at this page and it is not red hot as my soul is now. It is black ink. It ought to be written with the red ribbon. You will not see the tears that are falling on this typewriter, tears of a boundless joy broken loose.

The most wonderful discovery that has ever come to me is that I do not have to wait until some future time for the glorious hour. I need not sing, “Oh that will be glory for me -” and wait for any grave. This hour can be heaven. Any hour for any body can be as rich as God! For do you not see that God is trying experiments with human lives. That is why there are so many of them. He has one billion seven hundred million experiments going on around the world at this moment. And His question is, “How far will this man and that woman allow allow me to carry this hour?” This Sunday afternoon at three o'clock He was asking it of us all. I do not know what the rest of you said, but as for me, I asked, “God, how wonderful dost Thou wish this hour alone with Thee to be?”

“It can be as wonderful as any hour that any human being has ever lived. For I who pushed life up through the protozon and the tiny grass, and the fish and the bird and the dog and the gorilla and the man, and who am reaching out toward divine sons, I have not become satisfied yet. I am not only willing to make this hour marvelous. I am in travail to set you akindle with the Christ-thing which has no name. How fully can you surrender and not be afraid?”

And I answered: “Fill my mind with Thy mind to the last crevice. Catch me up in Thine arms and make this hour as terribly glorious as any human being ever lived, if Thou wilt.

“And God, I scarce see how one could live if his heart held more than mine has had from Thee this past two hours.”

Will they last? Ah, that is the question I must not ask. I shall just live this hour on until it is full, then step into the next hour. Neither tomorrow matters, nor yesterday. Every now is an eternity if it is full of God.

But how “practical” is this for the average man? It seems to me now that yonder plowman could be like Calixto Sanidad, when he was a lonesome and mistreated plowboy, “with my eyes on the furrow, and my hands on the lines, but my thoughts on God.” The carpenter could be as full of God as was Christ when he drove nails. The millions at looms and lathes could make the hours glorious. Some hour spent by some night watchman might be the most glorious ever lived on earth. God is not through yet. He is breaking through and I think the poor have less callousness for Him to overcome as a rule than have the rich.

On the other hand the rich man has the wonderful opportunity of paying a sacrifice which will cut his heart almost out. If he seeks the place where his wealth is needed most, then throws all he has into that cause and then throws himself into the cause with his money, as Jesus asked the rich young ruler to do, his money will at that moment be transmuted into the golden threads of heaven. Maybe there is another way, but to me there seems only a blank wall for wealthy men save through the doorway I have entered, a sacrifice that hurts and hurts and - behind Calvary, God!

Outside the sky is alight with golden sunset. To me that is God, working on the sky, as he has worked so wonderfully this afternoon within me.

Letters by a Modern Mystic

How fully can you surrender and not be afraid?

Eternity Is A Lot Longer Than You Think

And infinity is a lot bigger than we can imagine. Some believe sinners go to hell for eternity, but hell itself is destroyed after some time. Eternity goes on. What the Biblical word eternity means is time-out-of-mind. “For eternity” is a longer time than we can imagine or comprehend, but it still has an end. I think the church scholars actually know this, but it doesn't pay the preachers as well. People who are sent to hell for eternity get out after they have paid the last farthing, do they not? Whatever "payment" is. And yet the real eternity goes on. How long has the Ineffable been around? The span of one universe until now? The span of two universes? Ten? Ten trillion universes? He'd just be getting started: "G'morning!"

Our whole solar system is four billion years old, and it is just a pup among the universe's countless trillions of solar systems. What is next door to our universe in any and all directions? And what lies beyond that?

Eternity is a very, very, very long time; and infinity is very, very, very big. I do not think this is God's first dance. He has been through all this before: "This is how I do it."

As God Thinketh, So Is He: Healing Is Him Saying, "What He Said"

No one has ever had to convince me of miraculous, creative healing. I have seen it with my own eyes. I have WATCHED it. The Holy Ghost CHANGES what is there, makes it into whatever She wants, into whatever He THINKS it now is. And it is.

I was reading/listening to Neville Goddard's lecture "Know What You Want," which is on YouTube.com as "Our Real Belief." He stresses that knowing is the same as being, that we really do not know a thing until we have experienced it, until it has become a part of our being--then we know it. He also stresses that the true person we are is the spirit within us, the "observer" of all the sensory input we receive. This CORE person is our imagination, who at its deepest core is Jesus Christ, and he God the Father. I.e., our "internal" core-being is the "external" God, for all is one, THE One. THAT in Deuteronomy 6:4 is what makes us "Israel," God's triumphing.

Our real belief is projected as our situational experience, our "world." This is God's language to us: "This is what we are, what we believe and know as received--what we have made Me at our core." So to change our world, we must believe to the depth of experience at our core what we are--that we have received. For that core is God. If we believe to the depth of experience, that we KNOW it, that we ARE it, God in us becomes it, and we watch our situational experience THIS MOMENT manifest what He now thinks He IS.

So when Neville says, "First you must know exactly what you want. What would it be like if it were true, that you really were (and are at your core-being) the man or the woman that you desire to be?" he is saying to EXPERIENCE what you desire in your imagination, to the depth of your core "inner man," who is God. Subjectively appropriate the objective experience--dream it as REAL. CHANGE WHAT HE THINKS AS YOU, AND YOUR PROJECTION WILL BECOME IT.

Well, how hard is God to convince? You can imagine--mentally experience--a scene you are physically in, but that may be a difficult challenge. For something easier, would you believe a certain person if he or she told you something? Is he or she trustworthy? Listen to them tell you what you desire. Experience that hearing, and rejoice in it, for it is true. But do not simply imagine that you heard it; HEAR it. Experience THEIR voice, and believe them.

The Word 'Know' In Neville Goddard's "First You Must Know EXACTLY What You Want" Means To Experience It To Make It God

I bought Mitch Horowitz's book Neville Goddard's Final Lectures and have been listening to them on YouTube to correct the mistakes and errors in their transcription. I first listened to and read chapter 7, "Know What You Want" (aka "Our Real Belief"). Then I started listening to them in reverse order. I got kind of excited (not in a good way) with all the errors in the last few transcriptions, but most of the earlier lectures have less. My favorite, and I think most practical and significant lecture, is the first I read, "Know What You Want":

"Our real beliefs are what we live by. Real belief and knowing are one. What a man really believes is just as though he knows it; it is tantamount to knowing. So when I tell you 'belief'--I call it faith, I call it belief--it is not complete until it becomes experience. One must experience it, and then they 'know' it."

Neville's approach is mentally appropriating an objective experience. It is to experience in imagination what is desired as though that experience is physically real. There is stress on the 'is' of the event. "Knowing" for Neville goes far beyond choice, beyond definition, beyond vivid imagination of what is desired. It is actually entering the state of the desired experience as a dream, of actually being "there" while asleep, distant from where one is sleeping. "Every dream can come true if I can get through to you that your imagination is God, and that your imaginal act, when you think of a friend carrying on a conversation--that is Jesus Christ in action...The real Jesus Christ is your own wonderful imagining. That is God in action. The real God is your own wonderful, lovely imagination. When you say, 'I am...,' that is God."

You want to get to the point where your internal act "is equal to the external confirmation of that act." This occurs deep in the core of your own being, which core is God Almighty Himself who has become us. We make it HIS experience. For what God imagines...is God. And what He assumes Himself to be, becomes objective fact. To know means to incorporate into your very being: "First of all, you must know exactly what you want. What would it be like if it were true, if you were actually the man or the woman that you want to be."

How does this square with scripture? I believe that Moses put the very most important things up front where they cannot be missed, lost or covered up by obfuscating verbiage. So how does he start the Scriptures, the Oracles of the Jews? What is the very most important thing to be known? "As the Beginning, the Son of God creates the universe." That is, the Consciousness of the Ineffable Most High--Its imagination--begins all things by IMAGINING them--assuming them to be real.

Thank you for the hint, Moses. What God does, let us do also.

The Flames Of Glory

According to Victor Alexander, the Hebrew word for God, elohim, means "over the flames." Simply that - "over the flames." My question is, what are the flames "It" is over?

Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob would have spoken Ashurit, the language of Assyria. In the northern fertile crescent this language evolved into Aramaic, and among the Jews into Hebrew. The Assyrian god of creation in this proto-language was Ashur. Ashur also means "over the flames." Ashur was first depicted in pictograph form. The pictograph is a man standing in a circle, with what looks like the wings and tail of a bird extending outward from the circle. A photo of the pictograph is on the cover of Alexander's translation of the Book of Genesis.

The circle is the sun disc. The sun disc was the unconsumable flaming "bush" Moses saw. The man in the disc is the Son of God, who has power and authority to do the work of God giving life. The wing-and-tail-forms extending from the disc are actually rows of flames--the flames of glory. All of these together are one thing: God. God is "The Manifestation of the Life-giving Power and Authority Over the Flames."

I am quoting myself there. Again, what are the flames? I do not think they are just the flames of the sun, though they could be. Are they the stars of the universe which God is also over? Are they the "spark" of the Divine Holy Ghost within each of us? While I was trying to finish the transcriptions in Neville Goddard's Final Lectures, which transcription must be finish by the reader carefully listening to the audio recordings, I came up with another idea: could these flames of Glory be the Manifestation of God's holy, life-giving work: the fires of affliction? These are the flames of Glory, the "flames" of God Himself. Who gets to His state without suffering? Getting there is, and must be, "with persecutions." "To this purpose I was called," said Jesus. "Unto this I was destined" (your Bible has, "Why have you forsaken me?).

"Awk! The flames of Glory the fires of affliction? Heresy!!" you shout.

God is OVER the flames of affliction. They are from and of Him--part and parcel, as we are. They are His work generating Himself - Life - in us.

Take it to heart: He is OVER them!! God is "Over the Flames." When they come, remember we are One With Him. Rejoice!

But no, I am pretty sure the flames of Glory God is over is us. God the Father, God the Son, by God the Holy Spirit—the Word picture of Over the Flames, Elohim, includes us.

PS: In the ancient days words were pictures; alphabetic writing for words came later. The pictograph Ashur was a word which was 'God'. "In the Beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God." It is my opinion that the "Beginning" in Genesis 1:1 was an Item, the Son of God--Ashur, not a time: "With (or as) the Beginning, the Son of God creates the heavens and the earth."

On The Unforgivable Sin

I received a comment that fired me up a bit:

Anonymous 1:46 said... (with some slight editing):

This can all be simplified by one sentence Jesus says: "Whatever ye pray for believe ye have received it, and it shall be yours" (Mark 11:24).

What Neville Goddard said is true, and he explains how to reach this state Jesus is talking about. However he is just a man, like you and me, and full of faults.

Whilst he definitely did get some things right, it is not all right. How he can deny the reality of an external creator who created us and this earth? Doesn't make sense. Yes, God is in us, we are told that many times by Jesus and so while He is internal - He is also external and The OG Creator, The One and Only. The law of attraction is true, but it is only half the truth. Yes, you can manifest the desires God gives you, but what is this group going to do about death? About eternal life? So you see, we have this 'manifesting' group which may be able to get all they desire in this earth through the teachings of Jesus, because they ARE made in the image of God...despite not being born again, and God does not retract His gifts. But as for knowing their Creator and life after death, I fear for these people. Do they not fit exactly the description of the unwise virgins? "And what good is it if a man gains all he desires but in the process loses his soul?" (Mark 8:36).

Dear Anon. at 1:46,

I think you are mistaken. Neville never denied there being the external Creator God. What he denied was Its being separate from us. He held that we are artifacts OF It, and our imaginations ARE It. Your imagination IS the external God. It is the idea that we are separate from It--separate from God--which makes no sense. THAT is the great heresy, the abomination, the sin which will never be forgiven, the thing to be overcome. The Pentecostal doctrine of the Oneness of God does not go far enough: WE are included in the One. All Creation is. For all imagined by God is God. He is the "No-thing" all is being made out of.

I recently posted two reviews of Mitch Horowitz book Neville Goddard's Final Lectures.

Neville Goddard's Final Lectures," Edited By Mitch Horowitz: A Review

In the first post I listed Neville's last lectures in their supposed order. Mitch's transcripts of them have dozens if not hundreds of errors, which I know from listening to them in reverse order and following along, comparing the texts to their youtube audios. I have got through the second half of the book, and love it! I ask you to LISTEN to the last three or four lectures carefully, in reverse order. Oh, and the lecture named "Our Real Belief" (Know What You Want). I think that was the first one I listened to, and it changed dramatically my idea of what Neville has been saying all along. LISTEN TO THE AUDIO RECORDINGS CAREFULLY. Mitch's many errors made me go back and forth repeatedly trying to catch exactly what Neville was saying. This made me understand "The Duality Of Man" (Even The Wicked). Neville does not deny the external God; he denies that there are two gods. THERE IS NO ROOM FOR A SECOND, which is what you have if we are separate. From that concept, REPENT!!

And yes to the rest of your concerns.

Some PS ideas:

"God became as I am, that I might become as He is." Is this not the EXTERNAL God becoming the INTERNAL God? He individualizes, He does not divide. It is just that when He individualizes, by amnesia our part becomes stupideded. By generation in this field we are to come up to snuff, to become as He is--which is all His work. Which unfortunately is by the fires of affliction until we are up to snuff.

I am working on a post recognizing that the "fires of affliction" in our experience are also God's "Flames of Glory": His Hand forming us, directing us, generating us, becoming in us...HIM!!

I remember Lois Lane in the Superman movie responding to Superman's "I've got you," with "Who's got you?!" If Neville says, "I am imaging you," "Who is imagining you?!" Answer: the external God. We are ALL the external God. Our imagination is the external God, so really there is neither internal nor external. There is just GOD.

"Neville Goddard's Final Lectures" : A Review/Heads Up

In my first review of Neville Goddard's Final Lectures I warned of errors I had begun to find in the text. One really needs to read these transcripts WITH the audio, making corrections as they go. A lot of the errors I have found are inconsequential. On page 126, e.g., Neville says they brought a holy icon for the king of Greece who was dying. The transcript says for the king who had died. The icon didn't worked either way. On page 129, Neville says Fawcett has thrown some light on the mystery. The text says he has found some light on it. Well, there it is, in any case. Usually the errors are just confusing. Try to figure out on page 136, "And he said in this letter is the warmest and the friend is the relationship between us." Neville had said, "And he said in this letter, 'it is the warmest and the friendliest of relationships between us.'" On page 137 the text tells us to "sing them out." Neville had instructed to "single them out." On page 295. the word is archaic, not arcane--that one really is hard to hear.

Other errors are a bit more substantial. On page 271 God says, "I make the wheel. I form the world." You won't find it in the Bible. Neville's quote was, "I make the weal. I form the woe" (Isaiah 45:7). In the next paragraph, "He allows us all the liberty in the world to create high and low. Again, it is weal and woe. On page 286, Neville is talking about a pattern of events that delivered to him what he wanted: "Then, two (thieves)..." The text has "They two (thieves)..." Neville goes on to say, "You play your part, and every state necessary to make your part come to fulfillment will be present at the moment that you need it." Final Lectures has it, "You play your part in every state necessary to make your part come to fulfillment at the moment that you need it." Close, but no cigar.

What could "The secret is in the feeling. So he's always out. He is the first man covered with fear," possibly mean? Not much. Neville had said: "The secret is in the feeling. So Esau went out. He is the first man, covered with hair." Yeah, he is always out. Similarly, on page 162, "As you're told in the Book of Acts, that Pentecostal choir that came when they all heard the wind like a mighty storm wind." Can you imagine the members of a choir alighting on their heads at Pentecost?

Well, buy the book and get a pencil. Correcting the slip-ups in these texts will be a great review of Neville's teachings, which are well worth it. I could write a book on just the mistakes. Maybe someday there will be available a revision of Neville Goddard's Final Lectures, where the lectures have actually been listened to and the texts transcribed verbatim.

Sadly, Amazon's policy is that because I used money gifted to me by them, I cannot post this nor my prior review on Amazon.com. Perhaps you can.

Gospel of John: Reading and Interpretation, by Victor Alexander from the Ancient Aramaic Scriptures: Youkhanna

This translation of the Book of John from the Ancient Aramaic is the same as that in Alexander's Aramaic New Testament, of which I have both the softcover and the hardcover editions (I believe the hardcover is no longer available--check with Vic about that) and, come to think of it, in digital. The text is about two-thirds as wide as in the New Testaments, so the book has more pages. This single Gospel is much easier to open and to read comfortably, and to refer to the footnotes at the end of each chapter. The real reason I got it is my memory of how much an individual NASB Gospel of John influenced me to accept Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior. I was in 1975 living in a 1959 Chevy Fleetside pickup truck in Honolulu, Hawaii. I had moved to Hawaii to get away from my crazy Charismatic mother in California. I shipped my truck and homemade camper over to Hawaii on a Matson roll-on ship. I had no idea at all at that time that it was illegal to live in a car or truck in Hawaii; I had probably the only camper in the state. Having no windows (I had built it with louvers around the roof for ventilation), my camper appeared to be a little more than a mobile storage shed. I parked in the Ala Wai yacht harbor, and whenever the harbor master or police came around, I would walk over to a friend's boat as if I lived there.

Although formerly a church member, I was into metaphysics, meditation, Eastern religions and the occult. But when in a meditation I actually met a demon, that individual NASB Gospel of John became of real interest to me, especially after I had read Chapter 12 of the Book of Revelation in the old KJV Bible I had kept from my childhood. I remember reading that Gospel of John over and over, even as I walking up and down the beach. Having witnessed the reality of the demon and my mind's eye having been opened by Someone greater than me, the words of John were real and immediate--all the "dots" connected. "Oh, this (the Bible's report) is the real world, the world we are really in," I thought to myself as the reality of the spiritual world became clear to me.

Of course, I sought a church (the House of Praise in Kaimuki) and got saved--I guess I was already--and the illumination I gained from that Gospel of John was essential to my becoming fully surrendered, submitted, and baptized in the Holy Ghost.

So now I have the individual Gospel of John translated from the Bible's native language. "More better!" we'd say in Hawaii. I can use this Gospel and its illuminating power as a tract again, which makes it to me . . . priceless.

"Neville Goddard's Final Lectures," Edited By Mitch Horowitz: A Review

PS: Yes, I am starting with a postscript. I started reading the transcriptions of the lectures, and began to notice typos, errors, and glosses in the text. So I brought up the audio of a lecture to follow along and compare. Three errors in one sentence, six errors in the paragraph. Is this a problem for me? Niet. I am glad and appreciative to have the lectures this close to complete transcription. I have done a lot of transcription myself (you have read some of them without knowing). It is not a problem for me to finish these. GRAB A PENCIL AND FOLLOW ALONG TRYING TO HEAR WHAT NEVILLE ACTUALLY SAID. YOU WILL SEE WHY THERE ARE VARIANCES. Just make your corrections and thank God so much has already been done for you. End PS.*

I had this book in my Amazon Cart weeks before it was released. Although I already have all these "final" lectures downloaded as audio files and have listened to them repeatedly over the years, here they are attractively bound on quality paper in crisp, clear print with footnotes to Neville's references. The book itself is a class act. I was anxious to get it as soon as I heard of it, because I was not sure I had all of Neville's later lectures, as many of them are undated in other collections. There are nineteen transcribed lectures included, and all save one I have listed in my collection as "audio." Is having them ready to read worth the price of the book? Heck, the Introduction alone is worth the price.

The final lectures included are:
Faith is Loyalty to Unseen Reality
What is Man?
Feel after Him
Repentance, a Gift From God
Divine Vision
God's Son
Know What You Want (Our Real Belief)
Feel Chosen
John the Crown of Scripture
You Must Experience God
Ends, Ultimate and Temporary
Rearrange the Mind
Fulfillment of God's Promise
Where and When Did It Happen?
Justified States
Consummation
Even the Wicked (The Duality of Man; It is Done)
Revelation
God and I are One

The whole thing is pleasant and the feeling from it satisfying. So glad I could get it. Next on my shopping list is Horowitz's Daydream Believer: Unlocking the Ultimate Power of Your Mind. Hardbound!

*PPS: Yikes! Holy sniky. I started to go through "Revelation" to make corrections. In it I find "For this is revelation" has become "Well, this is revelation." Neville's spoken "Jesus is the Lord, and Christ, his Son," reads "Jesus is the Lord and Christ, his Son." That might actually be okay, but "he is the youth, the eternal youth, in his themes" (should be "teens") is not. Nor is "As you are told in John...it does not get a prayer," which should be "it does not yet appear..." It does not get a prayer? "We are told" has become "you are told." On page 300, Neville messages his hospitalized wife, "My state passes out, endures forever. Guess who I am." On page 307, the AUDIO has Neville saying, "I know it would amuse her and she would know exactly who it was it was who said his love relative to her endures forever." The text has "who it was who has sent his love relative to her in yours forever." ?? The book itself, cover, binding, paper and font, is a class act. The transcription of the lectures themselves...not so much. Careless in the one issue that really matters. Go figure. I wonder how Daydream Believer reads.

By the way, although I bought the book, I am not qualified to post a review on Amazon simply because I used gift cards (Thank you Red Cross and Amazon.com).

FYI: I continued through the lecture "Revelation." I found at least forty things Neville did NOT say: words added or missing, wrong words, wrong number, wrong tense, wrong sense. Having listened to his lectures while driving to work for years, I have become familiar with how Neville spoke. It was pleasantly peculiar, and it made him very popular. Whoever proofread this book for spelling probably, I imagine, has never heard Neville speak in his or her life, for they show no appreciation or familiarity for his cadence or sentence composition.

Well, I had better stop. It is just going to take a lot longer to listen and correct this book than I thought. God help the person who thinks these texts are verbatim.

The Secret In Napoleon Hill's "Think And Grow Rich" Is In The Title...THINK!! Thinking Is Imagining

What DO you want? What will it be like IN REALITY? What will be there when it is true, and this is just a distant memory? Imagine it to be true in your present "real" reality emphatically, enthusiastically, and emotionally. Enjoy and rejoice in it with relief. See it as what you wanted now EXISTS and is tangible, tactile--the real and present situation you are in. Be happy about it--thankful, grateful. Share it with others: "Look, see, feel, taste and eat!" Let your heart be with them as all y'all rejoice. Sleep in confidence. Wake in confidence. It--the Bible's world--is your world. And when it works, you have found Him. Take the hint.

Heading For Healing 31b: Who/What Does The Healing? Go And Sin No More

This is a most interesting trip. We have got to do some mental wrestling. From Heading For Healing 31a I wanted to emphasize that because of Christ's redemption of us in the Atonement, the devil actually has no claim on us except in our continued blaspheme of the Holy Ghost; i.e., we do not believe what God has said, which leaves us unforgiven. My favorite go-to for this is T. L. Osborn's testimony of William Marrion Branham's healing of a little deaf and dumb girl, which Osborn witnessed: T.L. Osborn Testimony On William Branham, "I saw Jesus in that man..." Please note T. L.'s comment from .25 to .30 that he aspired to popularity. We need that to help understand Branham in his later ministry.

While looking for videos of Osborn's testimony of this healing, of which there are several, I noticed David Cloud's article William Branham's Bogus Healings. As a Branham I am well aware of how William Marrion's later ministry went south, so I was not and am not dismayed by this revelation. I am here to tell you, though, that it is bogus, unbelieving news.

THE PROBLEM IS IN CONCEPTUALIZATION. Branham pronounced everyone healed on the basis of Christ's finished and complete redemption of them: "Disease is from the Devil, and he has nothing on you now. You ARE healed." The "faithful," though, typically expected (from their typical church's preaching) that Christ and his Apostles had some kind of supernatural Jazam! power emanating from their bodies with which they could heal at will. They believed in God, Jesus, the Holy Ghost, the Bible and healing, but IT WAS STILL SEPARATION. They did not believe what God says, that He and we are ONE, with redemption leaving no problem between us. They had faith in the wrong thing--eternal separation between God and Creation, and they died.

Friend, Christ's work, though ongoing, is DONE. It is just a running end--we each graduate in our own time. We are saved and healed by our faith IN THAT FINISHED WORK. The Devil has got to go just as simply as Branham commanded it from that little deaf and dumb girl. It is oh so regrettable that he aspired to popularity and failed to continue to communicate his message clearly. "By HIS stripes ye ARE healed." Fight for it. Rejoice in it. Confess it not as an outward reward but as your inner being: "He is me, and I am as healed as He is." Accept Him, and ask Him to accept you.

William Branham--HIS FIRST HEALING CAMPAIGN, ST. LOUIS, MISSOURI: BEGINNING AGAIN WITH A NEW ANOINTING

Heading For Healing 31a: If Separate, We Take His Flip-Blame; If One, He Takes Ours

If you are interested in healing or in being healed, do not focus on passages about healing. For when we think about healing, we conceptualize distance and otherness to God: "You, over there, have the power to heal me." God is not that far away. Focus on passages about REDEMPTION. For if we are redeemed (and we have been to the full), the Devil has nothing on us--we are back to the oneness. Rees Howells said it oh so clearly: "When you take the place of another, you take the suffering of another, you have to walk every inch of it" (Norman Grubb, Rees Howells: Intercessor, Cambridge: Lutterworth Press, (also Christian Literature Crusade), p. 128, 237ff). If we think we are separate from God, we take God's place. GOD is to blame for all error resultant from the flip which has caused the amnesia we suffer from. God became the blame when He, as the Beginning of all creation, flipped into creation. Then became unlikeness, darkness, error, "sin." God became this creation that this creation might become, through generation of His nature in it, His express Manifestation.

This project is bigger than an all-day sucker. From the Beginning all of this has been God's Manifestation, the Milta (Aramaic)--literally Him including His ignorance. 'Israel' is that which gets it--"Hear, O Israel, YHWH (the Self and Ever-existing Becoming One), our Elohim (Power and Authority Over the Flames Which Is To Be Worshiped), is one YHWH" (Deuteronomy 6:4 Bullinger and my parentheses). The point being, I believe, we are INCLUDED in the One. I.e., God is not separate from us, for we are one with Him--sin and all.

Unless we think we are separate from Him. Then we take all God's sin (which it isn't, really), all His error and disease upon ourselves, which IS sin, the blaspheme of the Holy Ghost. "I am the blame for all of this," we think. Welcome to hell. All disease comes from the Beginning's flip from consciousness of Divine Oneness to the amnesia-caused ignorance of Divine Unity. It is disassociation. Disease is in the Creation. It is variance. Healing is in the Atonement. Variance disappears. From the Beginning Christ has forgiven Creation its ignorance at its recognition of oneness with Him. "If thou doest well, shalt thou not be accepted? And if doest not well, (your) sin (offering, a lamb) lieth at the door. And unto thee is its desire, and thou shalt rule over him" (Genesis 4:7 KJV Bullinger notes incorporated). That--recognition of oneness with God--is exactly how far man has ever been from healing! Christ has ever redeemed us, taking our sin--HIS sin--upon Himself: "He bore all our sins and raised them bodily* (by His body) to the Cross, whereas we were dead in sin, we shall Live by His righteousness. For you were healed by His stripe wounds, whence you were lost like sheep and now you have returned to the shepherd and the reconciler of your souls" (1 Peter 2:24-25 Alexander). Hallelujah.

Scientifically, eternity and infinity start as a vacuum, a no-thing. That is as far as we can go knowledge-wise. I believe with all my heart, mind, and soul that there is the Ineffable, something beyond all our comprehension, on the other side of the infinite vacuum, beyond this vacuum's "dimension." The vacuum dimension exists to the ineffable Being's consciousness beyond it; i.e., the Ineffable's Consciousness has thought of it. We do not and cannot know what this ineffable Being is. We shall never sense It, for It is beyond all we can know. Except for Its consciousness, our God. Consciousness--the first manifestation of the incomprehensible, ineffable (...?) beyond the dimension of the vacuum--is (...?)'s "Son." By It the Ineffable manifests on this side of the vacuum. Say, "Hi Mom and Dad."

The Ineffable's assumptions "excite" the creative fields It exist as on this side into manifestations of those assumptions. That is where we come from, and is where we join the party. Excite your oneness with God by thanks, praise, gratitude, adoration, appreciation, love, and worship. See how He would have you be, free and whole, and remember when in the distant past you were like this. Thank Him for the Lamb, for being the Lamb, for taking all our sin upon Himself and for His paying the price for our peace with God WHICH WE NOW ENJOY. GOD SEES IT AS A DONE DEAL! We are fully redeemed--back to BEFORE the fall. "Thank You, Jesus. I AM healed."
