A More Excellent Way
I have repeatedly asked readers to listen to teachings by T.L. Osborn. T.L. had witnessed William Marrion Branham heal in Jesus' name by rebuking and casting out spirits of infirmity. The logic was that all illness was caused by the Devil, Satan, at the fall of Man he had orchestrated. We are forgiven by right of Jesus' suffering and death, so the Devil has no authority to enforce his affliction of any believer's body. The believer's authority over Satan is a big deal in the Pentecostal Church and Christianity in general.
T.L. took this and ran with it, casting out demons of every sort of sickness. Then, in Uganda, God brought him up short: "Do you have more faith in your ability to cast out devils than you have in the healing power of My love?" Osborn taught the Ugandans the love of God, and God healed them.
I bring this up because I was just listening to Joseph Murphy talking about how he dealt with a woman whose daughter was near death by a high fever. Murphy recognized that the child's fever was the result of the mother's chaotic and agitated state of mind. He did not cast the Devil out of her or out of the child, but had the mother read Psalm 23 and pray with a reorganized mind love and calmness for her daughter. The fever left the child as the mother's mind was healed by love.
Our ignorance causes a lot of interference as we seek to find God, to imagine and to pray effectively. Major in God's love. Thank Him for the joy, health, success, love and peace He GAVE us in Jesus' suffering and death. Personally, I look at the death of the Beginning (as the Son entered material reality), the event Jesus' suffering and death illustrated. But indeed, illustration works.

Hi Dan, thanks for sharing the two links. I listened to them both. They were both excellent examples of what you were writing about.
