The Magic of Disappearing Matter
This post is a little out of order. I have been reading a lot of essays from David Christopher Lane and others involved in the controversy over consciousness. Is it physical or not? People who believe consciousness is within the purview of material evolution are physicalists; i.e., they believe that consciousness comes from matter.
There is a scientific basis for this belief, of course: matter is what expanded from the big bang. We only know and experience matter. It is all that we can get our hands on, and although we do not really know what matter is, consciousness must have come from it. Or so they say.
Interestingly, when science takes a look at the building blocks of matter, it disappears. In double-slit tests of photons (a quantum level of existence), the power that the photons are only becomes material when observed. You should need to go change your pants right now. The universe exists only as power until it is observed.

This is not to say that matter does not exist. It certainly does when we observe the power that it is. I venture to suggest (as I have for years) that the ineffable Source is intelligent, and Its intelligence is POWER to become what it believes it is. The ineffable Source imagines, and Its imagination is that intelligence/power. WE, the consciousness within these human forms, are that imagination believing what we observe. Power becomes material at our observation because
we
are
that
ineffable
Source.
Thus consciousness is not rising out of matter, but matter is rising out of consciousness . . . for us.

Maybe you can explain something to me because I've never quite been able to wrap my head around the double-slit "wave to particle when observed" theory. How would they KNOW it goes from wave to particle...when observed? How do they know it's a wave form when NOT observed?? Wouldn't someone have to be observing to know that?

There is a dropdown under the youtube video with several links to its foundational materials. You might search for double slit experiments and/or explanations. I do understand, I think, that by "observation" they mean a measuring device. Laser light passing through the slits to a film beyond them displays as a wave-like pattern. Add measuring devices at the slits and the pattern on the film collapses to columns of particles. This link is to a text about this:
