Focusing on Clarity

In July, 2015, I posted "CLARITY: A Big Part of Neville Goddard's Secret of Imagination." Be Nice asked me to expand especially on the idea, "The Ineffable is imagining us. Our vision, our experience of reality, is Its imagining."

The basic premise is in every of Neville's books and lectures: "Man is all Imagination, and God is Man, and exists in us, and we in Him. The Eternal Body of Man is the Imagination, and that is God Himself” (Blake). God became man that man may become God. When it works, you have found him, God, and that he is your own, wonderful, human imagination.

I think much of the incomprehensible, invisible, and eternal Ineffable Most High, the Source of all things Who has become man. It has intelligence that is power to become what it believes it is ("can you spell 'faith'?"). THAT Being imagined all that shall ever be, including you and me. I am jazzed right now with the idea that all our freewill choices, and yes they are freewill, were foreknown. Else how could the torah codes exist? We are free to go any direction, and we do, but he already knew that. Must be really good at chess.

The Ineffable created the universe and all its history (hence Christ IS risen) BEFORE the Big Bang. All the frames are already in the movie. And It did this exclusively by IMAGINING. Then It imagined It was matter and BAM!, there was matter to facilitate all the EXPERIENCES It imagined. It imagined the experiences we are having and is guiding us through them like a football player directing a soccer ball. We get kick around and then, "Goal!" But the thing is, It is imagining the imagining we are right now experiencing as our imagination in our heads. The Ineffable is nations and multitudes of people's imaginings as Christ throughout eternity. There is zero distance between the Ineffable Most High's imagination and our thought (and anything else for that matter). Our worlds are out-picturings of Its Imagination; there is not anything but It. It isn't that everything is imagined and therefore does not exist; it's that Its imagining is so powerful that what it imagines DOES exist. It imagines very clearly. And our imagination has the same power as the Ineffable's Imagination INASMUCH AS WE ARE LIKE THE INEFFABLE. I think this is where we are going with all this over the long run.

I was inspired back in July of 2015 probably by Neville's lectures "Secret of Imagination" and "What Are You Doing Now?" The first five paragraphs of the latter below:

Many times I have heard someone say: "I believe that imagining creates reality, but I once imagined something and it never came to pass." Then I ask: "What are you doing, saying, 'I once imagined it,' and not imagining it now? For God's name is I AM, not I did! Always thinking of God as someone outside of himself, man finds it difficult to keep the (present) tense, but God is the human imagination and there is no other God.

When you imagine you may include others, but do not think in terms of influence. Rather, think only in terms of clarity of form.

Perhaps a friend would like a better job, more money, and greater responsibility. Before you imagine, take a moment and clarify the form your imaginal act will take. Are you giving the celebration party or is he? Who will be there? Fill the room with those who would want to share in the celebration. Raise your glass and say: "Here's to your fabulous new job, your salary increase, and the challenge of your greater responsibility!" Don't think in terms of trying to influence the friend's boss, for he could die or be discharged. Just go to the end. Toast the event, and do not think of influencing others.

The law, to be effective, needs feeling with form. Build a structure that would imply your desire is already fulfilled, and enter its form with feeling. You do not have to be concerned about influencing others, as they are not the cause - your imaginal act is! Those who have a billion dollars are not causing your world. You and you alone are doing it, as your imaginal acts influence people. Everyone is yourself pushed out, so when you imagine, you are influencing yourself!

Knowing what you want, place your attention on its clarity of form, and then watch what you are imagining. Are you remembering when you imagined something greater than what you have? If so, you are confessing you are not now imagining your desire fulfilled. If imagining creates reality, you must change your memory and become aware of what you are imagining right now.

Do not concern yourself with whether your freewill choices are foreknown or not, or whether you are upsetting the celestial apple cart. Believe your freewill choice IS the existence in your history It has foreknown. Answer the question, "What would it be like if it were true?" Take a suggestion from The Great Learning by Confucius: investigate all things. If you were the person you wish you were, what would you see, hear, feel, taste, smell, feel emotionally, sense time-wise -- I.e., WHAT WOULD THAT WORLD BE? Imagine THAT clearly in your imagination with the sense, the feeling that it IS real.

The word I got the other day was that the same power is in all the folds of the Ineffable. The Ineffable is imagining it all, and all is It. It has given the spirit that is Its imagining to Man: "But the word is very nigh unto thee, in thy mouth, and in thy heart, that thou mayest do it" (Deuteronomy 30: 14). That is, It has given us consciousness of this existing fact. So if our imagining is Its, we should be able to imagine as It does, clearly and with belief, with the concomitant result that what we experience as an EFFECT will have its CAUSE (the Law of Reversibility).

The important thing in all this is finding God. The physical sort of things we may desire and attain are quite worthless apart from discovering the reality and purposes of God. Get THAT clear!

  • All that specificity. All that clarity. All that preparation. Setting the scene. Asking oneself all those questions.... and all of this accomplished in that "drowsy state" right before one loses consciousness? <--That's the impossible part.

  • Another comment recently encouraged us to not over-research. Although there is a mechanism, it needn't be steps. This is all organic to the body we are. Like digestion or a loving relationship. We do not do them by consciously following steps. They are just the flow of life. So I have words with the loving wife. That night I burst my heart with love for her and hear good things. No Producer-Author-Director-Actor construct. It is just attitudes, appreciation, warm-fuzzies with thanks. It is like eating a sweet piece of fruit. You do not think: a) bite; b) chew; c) swallow. You do not think about those things at all. You enjoy. I think we are supposed to apply this kind of effortlessness to revision and prayer.
