Jesus Christ, the Love Lesson
I know the characters of scripture are composed, symbolic representations to illustrate the authors' intentions, but somebody had to know what they taught when the stories were written. People miss God's love in creation, they miss that God is love in Exodus 3:14, and they miss that we are supposed to be God's love in the Law. God had a little "do-over" I call the Season of Grace (see Daniel 9). At the end of the Season God sent His love lesson in the form of Jesus Christ. It doesn't really matter if Jesus Christ was a compilation of stories (e.g., of a Judaism-refined Buddha), God incarnate, or a saintly man who manned-up to fulfill prophecy; all we have are the stories and a real God who says the stories are true (belief breaks into confirming experience). To get to Him and what He says is His son, He'd have us be him. Believe the stories and be the stories--the ultimate practical mental trip. My former pastor, Jesse Mason said, "The only way to do it is to do it." Trust that the Guy is there, and do what you can. When it works, you have found Him, er, Them.
