Poking At An Understanding

As I understand T. L. Osborn, in the Paradise sin was not eating the fruit of the tree of life, which gave knowledge of good and evil, but was disbelieving God's words, "You will die." They thought, "Nah, he didn't mean that."

We think God doesn't mean what he says. To repent is to believe what he says. We depend upon him. Proverbs 28:28 says the fear of the Lord is wisdom, to depart from evil is understanding. Evil is not believing what God says. John 3:8 says the wind blows where it wishes, and you hear the sound of it, but (you) cannot tell where it comes from and where it goes. So is everyone who is born of the spirit." If we're baptized in the Holy Ghost, we have that force--God--in us. That force is beyond everything; it is the source of imagination.

"If you adhere to me and my words adhere in you" . . . you get the condition that was in the Paradise, because we receive God's forgiveness for our disbelief, and he is the same yesterday, today, and forever. So now we are then, but better.
