Extremes

There is always the question of what is required of believers in God. Is there actually a moral code of behavior expected by God, the Consciousness of the Ineffable (of which, by the way, we happen to be)? The pass, "It's complicated," applies. Moral codes are established by priesthoods. They define their culture's expression of devotion to God. It is up to the potential convert/proselyte to decide whether to accept and adopt the proffered cultural expression or opt for another manner of demonstrating their love, honor, and devotion to God.

The Laws offered by the Oracles of the Jews (applied in thought, not just in behavior) give an example of the extreme devotion expected by their priesthood for the extreme holiness of their God. The nation (people group) is to be characterized by this extreme. This is a revelation of what is expected of YOU. As you read the expectations of holiness laid upon them, imagine that same expectation of extreme devotion laid upon yourself. How will you be demonstrably loving, noble, moral, and honoring of God? That invisible Being wants Its nature and character to be visibly manifested by your thought and behavior, for your in and out to be demonstrably, manifestly It. Or at least, that is how I see it. We are to make Its avenues easy. Bless Him, He makes our cultural-demonstration path building our own endeavor, but with His strength. So be sure first of all to know Him. He is the first Extreme.
