The Secret to a Long and Happy Marriage

My wife and I are in our late 70s, and people ask us how long we have been married. When they find out we have been married 46 years, they ask what is the secret to such a long and happy marriage. We're like, happy? Why ask us? No, seriously, my daughter happens to be getting married in September, and I think I will share at the wedding what is the secret of a long and happy marriage--which has set me to thinking, "What IS the secret?" Well, for me the secret of a long and happy marriage is the Milta, the Manifestation of God becoming the Manifestation of God. My wife and I are in that world, wherein He is making us Him. What do you think eternity is FOR? "He hath placed Eternity (development of Himself) in men's hearts" (Ecclesiastes 3:11, parenthesis mine).

It is a work God is doing; we just co-operate with Him, with His will, with His becoming. His will is number one. The core of this is mental: think positively, lovingly, nobly, caringly, humbly, submittedly (my spellcheck says that isn't even a word), faithfully, with integrity, fidelity, &c. For God is imagining all of this. We do Him. It is MENTAL, into this world.

The marriage ceremony touches that world. The two become one; not the man and the woman, but this world and that world. That world is tiny, a seed inside us. There was a Garden in Eden, a place in Iraq the Hebrews knew of, LIKE the place the seed is in us. God placed a special man there to follow God's will and to become Milta. Jesus' redemption of us put us BACK there. Being back there is the secret of a long and happy marriage.
