Healing Comes After Repentance

I am fascinated with T. L. Osborn. Sorry to hear of his passing. He
visited my class at Melodyland School of Theology in the later
1970s. He was kind of scary looking with that wild goatee, but a
tender heart. I think when he discovered the Lord, he said to
himself, "Get up and go." I said to myself, "What is this?" (I was
literally in a metaphysics class in 1975 when I first encountered
Jesus.)

What fascinates me is T. L.'s formula to get people healed, leading
them to repentance in particular. Repentance comes from
recognizing Jesus is not just a man but is, in reality, Jehovah God
(YHWH). Repentance is getting one's mind straightened out onto
the right course, because when YHWH became a man, it was us.

The author of the book of Mark gives an illustration (chapter 7,
Aramaic New Testament by Victor Alexander):

 20. "However, that which emerges from the human being is what
 degrades the human being.
 21. "For it is from the inside of the heart of humanity that emerge
evil thoughts, fornication, prostitution, theft, murder.
 22. "Cheating, corruption, conspiracy, treason, enviousness*,
 blasphemy, arrogance, folly.
 23. "These are all wickedness that emerge from inside and
degrade the human being.
24. And from there Jesus rose and came to the district of Tyre
and Saidon, and he entered a house and did not wish that
anyone* should know of his presence, and he could not hide.
25. For at once a woman heard about it,* her daughter was
possessed by an evil spirit, and she came and fell before his feet.
26. However, the woman was a pagan of Syria's Phoenicians.
And she wanted him to cast out the demon from her daughter.
27. And Jesus said to her, "Let the children be satisfied first. For
it is not well* that the bread of the children be consecrated and
thrown to the dogs."
28. She replied and told him, "Yes, my Lord, even the dogs get
to eat of the consecrated crumbs that [fall] beneath."
29. Jesus told her, "Go, because of your recognition,* the demon
has left your daughter."
30. And she went to her house, and found her daughter in bed
and the demon had left her.

*7:29 Lit. Ar. idiomatic figure of speech: "This Manifestation."
Reference to her calling  him "Lord."

The Phoenicians were outcast, base humans, and the woman
typical of  human imagination and desires, whose specific
thoughts (daughter) were "demon possessed" -- of a worldview
built on ignorance, darkness and doubt. This is the typical human
situation. Mark uses the woman as a "type" of his reader.

Jesus "entered the house" as the spirit of life breathed into being
the woman's consciousness, the "house" being the skull. This is
"YHWH," the power of life and the power to bring into
manifestation. And the woman heard of it: "That is in me?"

I suspect most people miss this point -- the woman recognized
Jesus as YHWH, the Lord. She recognized that the flow is the
operation of the Ineffable which rules our lives, and is thus the
Ineffable himself . . . in herself. Encountering "the Shining One,"
the woman repented and was forgiven. The darkness and doubts
of the I-am-a-human mind left, and her specific thoughts became
right. Life is awareness of the Ineffable.

This is the same story as Jairus and the woman and the issue of
blood. Both Jairus and Phoenicia mean "to make luminous," both
women are human lives that touch the source of life, the power of
YHWH (the "hem" of his garment/at his feet), dying daughters are
human perspectives saved by being raised to awareness of the
divine. All of these "people" happen in each of us.

It is also Moses as Adam and Eve discovering YHWH, the divine
flow, in "Jethro," the excellent increase that comes from our
imagining. The Ineffable was in and as Moses, so Moses could say,
"I become."

The Repentance was the most important thing Moses could come up
with to tell us of all he had discovered. He holds it up like a jewel:
"God planned everything good. Then, as part of the plan, he became
mud's consciousness, making us to live. Dumbed, we think we are
human -- rotten, selfish, greedy and groveling. But lo," says Moses,
"I saw YHWH. He is glorious, and he is our power to live right,
because we are not humans after all -- we are him!"

Repentance is integral to healing. "If what I say about Jesus is true,"
said Osborn, "and we are reconciled to God by Jesus, and you do
repent, God will heal people here and now. And if you do repent,
and God does not heal anyone here and now, then the Bible is just
a book of interesting but useless stories you can take to the
outhouse." Then T. L. shined Jesus on them by proclaiming the
glories of God. Many heard, saw Jesus as YHWH, believed and
repented. And after repentance, many were healed.

T.  L. had no power, gift or anointing, not even a calling; he just
felt he needed to shine as a lamp, and God provided the fire.

Recently, I have been listening to a bunch of people preach about
our having the power of God to manifest anything whatsoever we
desire. Well, they are right -- we do have and can manifest,
because we are YHWH. But most of them miss the Repentance.

From Mark chapter 8:

34. And Jesus called the crowds together with his disciples, and he
told them, "Whoever wishes to follow me, will curse himself and take
up his cross and follow me.
35. "For whoever wish to spare their life, will lose it. And whoever
sacrifice their life because of me and because of their faith in me,
will Live.
36. "For what benefits the human being if they gain the whole world
and lose themselves?
37. "Or what does a human being get in exchange for their life?
38. "For whoever is ashamed of me and of my words in this sinful
and adulterous generation, the Son of Man will also be ashamed of,
when he comes in the glory of his father, together with his holy
angels."

Yes, we can gain the whole world through mind science, but what is
the point if we still think we are humans of this sinful and adulterous
generation? We are the sons of humans who will be ashamed when
the glory of our father finally becomes apparent in us. "Oh, I was
this all the time, and I wasted my life?" We ought to curse the
human worldview and take up the Jesus worldview, which, I think,
was T. L.'s intention. Repentance to the higher view of life is
instrumental in healing.

"When he comes," by the way, sounds like he travels from one place
to another. He doesn't. What comes is a level of awareness in us.
We ask him to "pot" us up in the prayer "Maranatha," -- to turn up
the volume; that is, to give us greater awareness. The idea of
distance is illustrative of the difference in levels of awareness.

Another aside: I remembered that an ancient Negev symbol for
YHWH was a serpent. I Googled it last night. Indeed, anciently
YHWH was "the Snake God." Snakes, in the desert sun, shine.

Oh, yes, I almost forgot -- time travel. Related to the coming and
going of the spirit, which is only descending and ascending in levels
of awareness, is the fact that we are eternal. We travel though time
as much as the spirit travels from "here" to "there," which is to say
not at all. My dear friend at Melodyland, Janet Gunther, raised
herself up through worship and praise into the heavenlies. She
certainly recognized Jesus as YHWH, too. I guess you could say
she was shining (that was not a stretch). That "higher" girl is eternal
spirit, and when she became one with her higher self, God said to
her, "You are healed." And she was.

My point is the word "are." That is the whole of her, the whole
ETERNAL being that she is -- past, present and future. Because
that whole, eternal being was forgiven, the whole of her was
healed -- past, present and future. The tuberculosis she had
disappeared, because her past "back there" was corrected.
It was as though she had never contracted TB. I think this is
what happened to the people who got healed at Osborn's
campaigns -- reconciled to the eternal self, the whole "enchilada"
is corrected, and they became as though nothing wrong had
ever gone wrong with them. We can likewise time-travel and
get healed by going to God in repentance. Life is awareness of
the Shining One, the Ineffable.
